Rules of the Fishery
Rules are always necessary to ensure the welfare of our carp, the care of the environment and wildlife, and the enjoyment of fellow anglers.
Here at Le Moulin du Mée we try to keep rules to the minimum however the rules that have been set down should be adhered to at all times. Failure to abide by the rules can result in your holiday being terminated without refund as the discretion of the owners.
1) No bent or long shank hooks. Crushed barbs at all times.
2) No more than 3 rods to be used at any time.
3) No leaders of any type - tubing must be used.
4) No shelf life boilies, nuts or particles to be used (the exception is a little hemp or maize).
5) No plastic baits.
6) No braid mainline nor uncoated braid hooklinks (stripping the last couple of inches is acceptable).
7) Under no circumstances should tree's, shrubbery, plants be destroyed, removed or damaged.
8) Treat your surroundings, wildlife and fellow anglers with the greatest of respect please.
9) All carp photographs are to be taken in the water using the sling and floating mat as supplied.
10) No carp are to be sacked under any circumstances nor retained for more than the time to unhook and weigh and photograph.
11) No leads above 3oz in weight to be used.
12) No rigs where a swivel is used on the hook. This is due to reports from other lakes of swivels catching in the mesh of the net resulting in torn mouths of struggling carp.
13) No Zig rigs....... they do not work here and can result in foul hooked fish.
14) Carp should be handled with care, never laying them on their stomach and returned to the water asap.
15) No use of plastic self hooking rigs such as 'The Twig' .
Please read the rule list carefully and ask for any clarification you may need.
Please note..
In the interest of fish care we ask that carp are always lifted from the water by means of the supplied sling. With large carp the process of just rolling up the net and taking them from the water can cause damage where undue pressure is put on either fins or internal organs.
If in doubt about any of the above then best to ask rather than presume ! We are here to help you have a successful and enjoyable holiday so will always offer guidance if required.
